Recently, I had a conversation with someone who was somewhat curious about premonitions, predictions or anticipation of earthquake [or other] future events. The other person was not sure if they believed in such and that much of 'predictive ability' or belief in such an idea was just due to a lucky guess or a mismatch of an event occurrence with a feeling of something totally unrelated.
Some simultaneous 'gut feelings' [or premonitions] and actual events, whether they be earthquakes or other life impacting events, can be pure coincidence. But there are other moments in time when the correlation of a 'premonition' and the happening of an event cannot be explained or dismissed easily or even ridiculed as quackery.
Many folks who feel they have 'predicted' a future event, keep such thoughts to themselves or may keep a private personal diary or notation of another sort, for fear that if they expose or proclaim their ideas [premonitions, theories etc.] they may be seen as a weirdo, a dreamer or an attention seeker, for example.
But what leads a person to feel they are experiencing a premonition or an anticipation of a future event? That event maybe an earthquake, tsunami, or other natural event; or a manmade or human related event?
I will hypothesise that such a feeling or anticipation of a future event can be based on several things.
Some of these things may be related; observed as separate and individual things or one which affects the other. Without being too specific, I am referring to things such as natural energies emitted in nature. Things such as a build up of visually obvious happenings which can culminate in a more major/main event. Things which, as individual happenings can cause a chain reaction or effect of events, which as a whole are the main event. Or an event which comes 'out-of-the-blue', with no prior warning in a general sense.
So, the general gist of my thoughts here are that energies [obvious visual or non visual] are all around us. They are within us, in relation to our own natural electrical internal bodily activity, which interacts with ingested, or inflicted, or complementary or nearby sources of competing or conflicting elements.
As an obscure example - when a perhaps relaxed and self aware person [an empath for example] encounters a very upset, angry or injured other person, their energy shifts from being somewhat personally harmonious within to akin to a circuit board which may be destabilized by a mismatched energy current.
Another example, is when you see children [or other person] or yourself experience a sense of complete harmony with another person and an instant rapport, an effortless interaction with no words needed for them to be comfortable with each other. This in my mind is a mutual positive energy [physical] and what looks like a kinship of 'knowingness' between the two souls.
Other individuals who may be guided by 'energies' surrounding and within them, and elements of perceptive experiences, are persons who feel they have psychic abilities. There are many words or titles used to describe persons who feel they can predict a future event or find the lost elements of a past event. I am meaning the non-demeaning titles here. And, yes, there are folks in the world who will disbelieve those folks who claim to have pre-event perspective/premonition, and that is ok too. We are all entitled to form our own opinions, whilst respecting the perspectives of others.
So, what is my hypothesis about the above [albeit brief and limited examples of energy]?
Well, energy [physical] is emitted by all things in varying degrees. Energy sources come from beneath us [earth, lands and sea], around us, within us [our own electrical circuits and biological composition] and above us [atmospheric, space etc.] and so on.
Such energies can conflict or complement each other, in unison or as a chain reaction of affectation. Energies can dissipate slowly or as quickly as they may arise. Combined energies can cancel each other out or invigorate each other.
In relation to any past earthquake [and other natural events] I have referred to or anticipated, I have watched out for patterns of energy distribution, possible energy sources and potential energy expulsion in one or more locations. I may sometimes say that the referring energy from these events may go on, to maintain a momentum of affect which can cause a different element to respond to that energy shift. For example. The major and tragic earthquake and tsunami event of 2011 was an example of one element of an event affecting another earth element to create an invigorated energy expulsion event. The resulting tsunami was caused by the physical action and energy of the major sea quake east of Japan.
Even in this current age of built up cities, traffic and people numbers, the energies surrounding earth events [such as earthquakes] can still be observable enough to reach beyond the din of modern life if we accidentally or purposefully tune in to such. Take note of nature [animals, earth beneath you, air etc.] and its behaviours. Once in tune with these things [even only mildly], when the energy shifts in some way, you may be able to anticipate the potential of an event of some magnitude - even sensing the smaller ones. Look up too, the clouds can give the odd hint of energies being released from the earth.
Some people feel that those folks who may have anticipated a confirmed future event just got lucky with their guess. Or without proclaiming an exact time, date and place, of an anticipation of an earthquake, for example, such an observation is dismissed without regard or even ridiculed. A dear friend [U.S. geologist - now passed - bless his soul], anticipated the 1989 Loma Prieta devastating earthquake following his observations of animal behaviours [amongst other things], but was ridiculed by some for his observations and warnings of this anticipated event. Others believed him though. Some people have laughed at me for suggesting there may be a tremor/quake coming in a particular area at a point in time - and when the event has happened - some have started to feel there may be some substance to various observations or intuitions regarding such.......
There are so many interesting, intriguing and different [natural] energy sources and interactions in the natural world. They never cease to amaze my nerdy mind.
