Earthquake Intuition and Observation

 

 Recently, I had a conversation with someone who was somewhat curious about premonitions, predictions or anticipation of earthquake [or other] future events. The other person was not sure if they believed in such and that much of 'predictive ability' or belief in such an idea was just due to a lucky guess or a mismatch of an event occurrence with a feeling of something totally unrelated.

 Some simultaneous 'gut feelings' [or premonitions] and actual events, whether they be earthquakes or other life impacting events, can be pure coincidence. But there are other moments in time when the correlation of a 'premonition' and the happening of an event cannot be explained or dismissed easily or even ridiculed as quackery.

 Many folks who feel they have 'predicted' a future event, keep such thoughts to themselves or may keep a private personal diary or notation of another sort, for fear that if they expose or proclaim their ideas [premonitions, theories etc.] they may be seen as a weirdo, a dreamer or an attention seeker, for example.

 But what leads a person to feel they are experiencing a premonition or an anticipation of a future event? That event maybe an earthquake, tsunami, or other natural event; or a manmade or human related event?  

 I will hypothesise that such a feeling or anticipation of a future event can be based on several things.

  Some of these things may be related; observed as separate and individual things or one which affects the other. Without being too specific, I am referring to things such as natural energies emitted in nature. Things such as a build up of visually obvious happenings which can culminate in a more major/main event. Things which, as individual happenings can cause a chain reaction or effect of events, which as a whole are the main event. Or an event which comes 'out-of-the-blue', with no prior warning in a general sense.

 So, the general gist of my thoughts here are that energies [obvious visual or non visual] are all around us. They are within us, in relation to our own natural electrical internal bodily activity, which interacts with ingested, or inflicted, or complementary or nearby sources of competing or conflicting elements. 

 As an obscure example - when a perhaps relaxed and self aware person [an empath for example] encounters a very upset, angry or injured other person, their energy shifts from being somewhat personally harmonious within to akin to a circuit board which may be destabilized by a mismatched energy current. 

 Another example, is when you see children [or other person] or yourself experience a sense of complete harmony with another person and an instant rapport, an effortless interaction with no words needed for them to be comfortable with each other. This in my mind is a mutual positive energy [physical] and what looks like a kinship of 'knowingness' between the two souls.

 Other individuals who may be guided by 'energies' surrounding and within them, and elements of perceptive experiences, are persons who feel they have psychic abilities. There are many words or titles used to describe persons who feel they can predict a future event or find the lost elements of a past event. I am meaning the non-demeaning titles here. And, yes, there are folks in the world who will disbelieve those folks who claim to have pre-event perspective/premonition, and that is ok too. We are all entitled to form our own opinions, whilst respecting the perspectives of others. 

 So, what is my hypothesis about the above [albeit brief and limited examples of energy]?

 Well, energy [physical] is emitted by all things in varying degrees. Energy sources come from beneath us [earth, lands and sea], around us, within us [our own electrical circuits and biological composition] and above us [atmospheric, space etc.] and so on.

 Such energies can conflict or complement each other, in unison or as a chain reaction of affectation. Energies can dissipate slowly or as quickly as they may arise. Combined energies can cancel each other out or invigorate each other.

 In relation to any past earthquake [and other natural events] I have referred to or anticipated, I have watched out for patterns of energy distribution, possible energy sources and potential energy expulsion in one or more locations. I may sometimes say that the referring energy from these events may go on,  to maintain a momentum of affect which can cause a different element to respond to that energy shift. For example. The major and tragic earthquake and tsunami event of 2011 was an example of one element of an event affecting another earth element to create an invigorated energy expulsion event. The resulting tsunami was caused by the physical action and energy of the major sea quake east of Japan. 

 Even in this current age of built up cities, traffic and people numbers, the energies surrounding earth events [such as earthquakes] can still be observable enough to reach beyond the din of modern life if we accidentally or purposefully tune in to such. Take note of nature [animals, earth beneath you, air etc.] and its behaviours. Once in tune with these things [even only mildly], when the energy shifts in some way, you may be able to anticipate the potential of an event of some magnitude - even sensing the smaller ones. Look up too, the clouds can give the odd hint of energies being released from the earth. 

 Some people feel that those folks who may have anticipated a confirmed future event just got lucky with their guess. Or without proclaiming an exact time, date and place, of an anticipation of an earthquake, for example, such an observation is dismissed without regard or even ridiculed. A dear friend [U.S. geologist - now passed - bless his soul], anticipated the 1989 Loma Prieta devastating earthquake following his observations of animal behaviours [amongst other things], but was ridiculed by some for his observations and warnings of this anticipated event. Others believed him though. Some people have laughed at me for suggesting there may be a tremor/quake coming in a particular area at a point in time - and when the event has happened - some have started to feel there may be some substance to various observations or intuitions regarding such.......

There are so many interesting, intriguing and different [natural] energy sources and interactions in the natural world. They never cease to amaze my nerdy mind.

The content of this post is related to a discussion I had recently with someone.

From the time we are born, we happen upon, are offered and given information about ourselves and our world from our nurturers and the environment. The quantity and quality of its substance impacts our observations, perceptions, intuition and our abilities of free thinking.

Free thinking allows us to question, challenge, critically observe, apply our deeply held beliefs, understanding and intuition to, at a soulful level, how life’s elements (and information) interplay, inter-react, interfere in and interpose our reality and our environment.  Silent free thinking (calibrated in only one’s mind – unspoken) maintains a deeply personal life mantra, privy to only ones self. Those free thinkers (outside the square), who publicly note their perceptions, observations etc., and whose ideas may be occasionally contradictory to current ‘knowledge’, may find themselves an avid following and/or dissenters. Those, like Nostradamus, offered some of his observations and prophecies in encrypted messages, being careful not to be seen as a threat to the then way of thinking and, in his day, potentially losing his life for such beliefs.

While we learn (i.e. education etc.) we are taught what is ‘known’. This combined with free thinking (asking the ‘why’, ‘when, where’ and ‘how’s’), observation, perception and intuition, we learn there is more – the unknown challenges us to find the ‘why’, ‘when’, where’ and ‘how’s’ of what we are told, asked to believe, shown and is sometimes impressed upon us.

What mediates the choices we make is our perception, understanding, etc.,…..what we choose to believe in is a part of this process of deduction. These beliefs about ourselves (abilities,  etc.), we can share with another or many and risk ridicule, ….or discover other/s who comprehend our meaning.

Now what does all of this have to do with this blog? Well…it can correlate with feelings that some people get regarding sensing and understanding changes and events in nature (the earth, atmosphere, sun, stars – whatever you are interested in or believe you may be attuned to). Science offers much information and many answers to our questions about natural and ‘unnatural’ occurrences. But as life would have it, not everything has an answer. And, sometimes the answers we are offered are not truly reflective of reality.

But there are still many things happening in our world, for e.g. earthquakes in ‘strange places’; weather events, unusual for regions; volcanic expressions [steam or smoke vents, once considered extinct volcanoes] in unexpected places; animals/wildlife behaving contrary to the ‘usual’ understanding and so on. Some who were once, and some who maybe still are, seen as heretics (non-conformists, those with an alternative ‘hypothesis’) with their interpretation of one or various events, or even their premonition of a potential event may be or have been regarded as perhaps ‘attention seekers’, ‘away with the fairies’, ‘trouble-makers’, charlatans, 'earth-quacks' in some cases, or even to some, a refreshing character with interesting ideas that might just have merit.

Now, I as yet, have not received criticism of my blog’s content and some of the ‘angles’ I may sometimes come from – and I welcome others input, ideas and criticism too, as healthy discussion and brainstorming is interesting. Though, I am also aware that there will be some people in the cyber world who may not care for what I discuss – that’s fine too.

There are answers to many questions not yet written in literature or theses and are yet to be discovered. Obscure ideas yet to be affirmed as plausible explanations, or prophetic proclamations as possible adjuncts to scientific knowledge, may add to the enlightenment of our knowledge of our planet and beyond, now and in the very near future. We now are in that time which the ‘ancients’ envisioned as the distant future, and more and more now many people around the world are noting what was once written hundreds, if not thousands of years ago, to be information worthy of being considered relevant to our current experiences of events affecting our lives.

So blogs such as these and people like myself, aim to offer an ‘outside-the-square’ cluster of ideas and information which may appeal to like-minded people and/or offer many others an alternative place to find a different kind of interpretation of the way this earth ‘ticks’ and the ‘signals’ it emits. Some may ‘pop in’ on this blog and think they are wasting their time reading this ‘mumbo-jumbo’ – but that’s fine – that’s the beauty of free thinking, individual observation, perception, choice and beliefs.

Sometimes my writings may seem cryptic, vague (in dates, locations of possible earth movements and other phenomenon) or even weird to some people. With my posts, I aim to be fairly general with my feelings and don’t note all, if many sometimes, of my more detailed feelings from my personal notes, as this humble fellow human being wouldn’t want to be judged as a heretic ;)

I am currently compiling a new list of my feelings, which I will post soon. Some of the tremors I have in my current notes have occurred in the last 36 hours.

Indian Ocean plates

The following quotation comes from my scrappy written notes I found whilst reorganizing all the paperwork/draughts for the books I have written over the years. The only ‘date’ I noted on these notes was November 2003. 

My memory was jogged when articles, such as this one – Indo-Australian plate is breaking up along a new plate boundary began being posted on the internet recently, that amongst my notes from years back, I had scribbled down my thoughts regarding this region, as it bugged me.

Below are the exact words (albeit in definite layman’s terms) I had written at that time.  

“The Indian Ocean, north central (slightly east) region where the plates, trenches – meeting like the shell of a cracked egg being held together by the ‘skin beneath the shell’, with the lines of these meeting points going in all directions, is constantly drawing me to it.

Looking at this old world map, my mind’s eye is drawing a constantly circulating pen line around this region.

It feels unstable (tremendous pressure), as if the meeting of these ‘joins’ is going the move and grind and change the layout of the ocean floors plates.

This instability is resonating to me a tremendous shift, strength or power of change in this region.

This may either be the cause of some serious movement (EQ’s) in some nearby countries coastlines (particularly to the north east – towards the lower/west of Indonesia, Sumatra for example) and large M’s resonating from this region itself. The north east of the Indian Ocean, because the plates (in this location) are generally moving this way, towards the plate Indonesia sits upon.

I don't know when this may occur, but I feel it will have an impact in the future - maybe in the next 10 years or so....?? ”

I don’t like to speculate on or get carried away with ‘predicting/intuiting’ regions which may potentially experience major disasters. I feel this, without scientific qualifications or morally, would be irresponsible of me.

No doubt, unfortunately we will see some major disasters occur in various parts of the world.

North America

I sat jotting some notes on Friday night on the U.S. states, and it wasn’t until I re-read such notes that I realized just how much I had written about my feelings for possible tremors in the United States. So, though this next list is quite long, some or many of the M’s noted may not occur; I may be wrong with the regions and/or I may be close with some. My usual reminder – these are just feelings of being drawn to regions and are not predictions for actual events.

North, Central and Southern California regions will continue to rumble with M1’s, M2’s and sporadic M3+’s.

Nevada M2’s and I feel this region may experience another M3+.

Las Vegas, Nevada region M2(+?)

N/E of Bakersfield (mountains) M2’s and an M2+ (+?).

East, N/E and west of Sacramento an M2 and M2+(+?)

Utah central west m2, M2+(+?)

Mount Rainier (Washington state) M2’s and is sticking with me for a potential M3+

Yosemite, Death Valley and Yellowstone, King Canyon/Sequoia and east of Sierra National parks may feel M1’s, M2’s and maybe an M3+

Central America

Mexico offshore Guadalajara, an M3+ and central Mexico.

Guatemala/El Salvador/Nicaragua, there may be more M3+’s

Revilla Gigedo Island (Mexico) may see an M3(+?)

On the border of Costa Rica and Panama, along the coast or just offshore, I feel there may be an M3+.

Near Acapulco (offshore) may feel an M3+.

Gulf of California southern and northern ends may feel M3+’s.  Also off shore, East of Guadalupe Island (between this island and the west coast of the Gulf of California/Peninsula) M3++ (close to the Baja region).

East of Belize and near the Cayman Islands region may feel an m3. 

Due south of San Diego (US)/west of the (middle of) west coast of the Gulf of California – an M3+  

Guatemala M3+’s

South of Oaxaca maybe an M3+ (offshore?)

South of Santiago (offshore) an M3+

West of Manzanillo (at sea – a ridge?) an M3+?. Manzanillo is S/W of Guadalajara.

Dominican Republic/Puerto Rico/British Virgin Islands

Regions may feel an M2 and maybe an M3+.

The Cayman Islands may feel an M2+ (+?)

South America –

Antofagasta and Santiago (Chile), Peru/Ecuador, western Bolivia – may experience M2+’s and/or M3++’s.

Maybe off the west coast (at sea), west of the near southern tip of South America (Chile) M3++

Colombia may see another M3++ again.

The Galapagos Islands may feel movement of m3+.

South Sandwich Islands for an M3+.

Argentina M3 and M3++ may continue sporadically. The Chile/Argentina border region is particularly the region I am referring to.

Mendoza, Salta and San Juan regions for example (Argentina) M3+

Venezuela and or north/east (offshore) may feel an M3 (+?)

Offshore of Chile (near Maule) M3++

West of La Paz an M3 (+?) and north-east an M3 (+?)

Mexico City, not a strong feeling of an M3(+?)

East coast of South America – east of (at sea, South Atlantic) French Guiana and Rio De Janeiro (maybe south east) M3+  

Canada –

The Yukon may see another M2 and maybe an M3+.

Off the coast of British Columbia may feel an M3+ and north of Prince George -  (south of the Northern Rocky Mountains Provincial Park) 

Vancouver may feel an M2 or M3.

South of Greenland and east of Newfoundland & Labrador again may feel some more movement (this could be a ridge/trench in the North Atlantic)

Between Montreal and Toronto M2 (M2+?)

South of the Yukon (Gulf of Alaska) maybe an M3+

South west Alberta maybe an M2

North west of the Northern Rocky Mountains Provincial Park an M2

Central/east Quebec may feel an M2?

North of Quebec City towards Alma M2+

The states of Saskatchewan and Manitoba are drawing me to them slightly for a possible M2+, but not sure exactly where.

Juneau, N/W of British Columbia is slightly drawing me to this region for an M2+

Pacific islands –

The Solomon’s, PNG, Vanuatu, (Mariana/Guam), Samoa, Fiji and Tonga may experience more M3+’s.

Santa Cruz islands may feel an M3 (+?).

South of Guam – Micronesia islands may see some movement M4+

The Bismarck Arch region may feel an M3+

Between New Caledonia and Vanuatu maybe an M2++

Between the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu an M3++

The Coral Sea (south of the Solomon’s) an M3

South of the Solomon’s an M3+

South of the New Britain islands M3+

West of Port Vila an M3+?

Tahiti/Pitcairn/Easter Islands regions – (repeat)

M3+?

New Zealand – (repeat + more)

South Island – perhaps an M3 in the north and M3+ south or S/W of the island. There could be a mild possibility of an M3+ south of the South Island, at sea.

Christchurch will continue to feel the odd M1’s and M2’s. There may be an M3+ off shore.

North Island – may again experience an M3+ NE of the island; maybe also east or north of Wellington.

Kermadec islands may show up with some more movement of M3+.

East of Gisborne, off shore or coast? Maybe an M3 (+?).

White Island may come into the picture again for an M3+.

Between Palmerston North and Napier an M2(+?)

East of Dunedin (at sea) M2+?

Auckland may feel an M3

 

Australia –

Every state and territory of Australia has experienced tremors recently.

Victoria, south east, east, south and/or Bass Strait may pop up with an M3.

The east coast of Australia may see M2’(+?)s perhaps near/offshore and inland;

- east of the Great Sandy National Park (QLD)

- south east Queensland

- way east of Townsville/north-west of New Caledonia (Coral Sea) (QLD)

- east of Newcastle (NSW) and N/W NSW

- due east of Sydney(NSW)/west of NZ (ridge?)

- east of Canberra (ACT)/(NSW)

- south-east of Tasmania (ridge?)(if so, it may me M3+) and maybe west (offshore).

- south/central Northern Territory maybe an M3

- South Australia south east and central M2+

- Western Australia west, S/W and north east M2+

- N/W of Darwin (Northern Territory) M3++ (off shore)

Way west of Perth (at sea) a ridge/trench may come up with an M4 (+?).

South West of WA will continue to feel an odd M2 and maybe an M3.

The north/west, south and west side of Sumatra may again experience M3+’s(+?).

That line I once referred to from the Sulu, Celebes, Banda and Timor Seas is still sticking with me as a zone of ‘pressure’ – which could mean more M4+’s

Northern Salawesi and the Banda Sea (including the Moluccas islands) regions may experience more M3+’s.

The Celebes Sea an M3+.

Halmahera (Moluccas) maybe another M3+

Ternate Island – north Maluku Province M3(+?) (volcano related)

South of Bali (east Java) may feel an M3+(+?) again.

Central Java region (volcano related) 

South of Padang (S/W), Bandung, Denpasar maybe M3++’s

The Andaman Sea regions may feel an M3+

Western Borneo an M3?

Malaysia –

West M2+

Philippines – (correction - pasted from notes incorrectly earlier)

May continue to experience the odd M4+(+?). The movement here has not settled yet.

Near Quezon M3+

East of Davao and east and/or north/east of Luzon M3+(+?)

Taiwan –

May experience an M3+ and maybe north east of Taiwan, towards Naha.

Marianna islands/Guam –

Maybe an M3+

Japan and Islands– (repeat)

Maybe east and north east of Tokyo and Honshu, an M3+?

And north/east of northern Japan.

Kuril Islands and far west of the Kurils maybe an M3+.

The Volcanic islands may see another M4+

East or N/E of Morioka (off coast) maybe an M3+

Alaska and the Aleutian islands –  (repeat)

Central Alaska may feel another M3+(+?).

The Aleutian Islands (peninsula) are ‘sticking’ with me for a potential M4+, as well as M2+’s.

The northern region of the Gulf of Alaska may experience an m3+.

East of the Kobuk Valley National Park an M3

Due north of Alaska, in the western region of the Beaufort Sea (Southern Arctic Ocean)? M3?

Russia – (repeat)

Western Russia, the far/east and central south (near border with Mongolia/Kazakhstan) may experience an M3’ish.

Kamchatka may see another M3+.

The Sea of Okhotsk may see an M3+.

North of the Laptev Sea (north of the central top coast of Russia).

Maybe near the border with Finland/Belarus an M3(+?).

South east of Novosibirsk (near border with Mongolia) M2+??

Sakhalin (far east ‘island’ of Russia) M3?

Hawaii –

Will continue to sporadically experience M1’s and M2’s. Another M3 (+?) may be felt.

China –

An M3+ may pop up in the far west, central south, south west, north west and east/south/east.

The Xingjian, Guangdong?? and Sichuan regions may feel M3+’s.

Tibet/Nepal –

Still a mild feeling of an M3+

Myanmar/Thailand –

Maybe near Yangon an M2+(+?) and Andaman Sea an M3+, Myanmar M3++

Afghanistan – (repeat)

West, central and north east may experience an M3++.

Afghanistan/Pakistan border an m3+?

Afghanistan/Tajikistan border an M3+?

Pakistan – (repeat)

Maybe southern and northern Pakistan (border with India?) and north with the border of Afghanistan – M3’ish

I am being drawn to west of Karachi for an M3+

A ridge/trench in the Arabian Sea may see an M3++

North western, north east, east, central and southern regions may see an M3+, maybe the Iran/Iraq border too.

Iran/Azerbaijan border? M3+

The Caspian Sea (Tehran?) may experience an M3+.

Maybe an M3 (+?)

Border may see an m3+ (+?).and an M3+ for Kyrgyzstan central.

North east of Greenland M4+?

Indian Ocean –

Well west of Australia ridge/trench may surprise with an M3+

South and east of Madagascar and Madagascar itself maybe an m3+

The Indian Ocean ridges and trenches (central region of the ocean) may have experienced some possible and rather serious ‘damage’, as per the link to the appropriate article at the beginning of this main post. Therefore, my feelings are a bit jumbled as to what the ramifications will be for movements in this ocean and surrounding countries. I am surmising though that there may possibly be some movement down the east coast of Africa, incorporating Madagascar, and maybe India and the western land/sea of Australia. But…because I am not a scientist, I will not propose a definitive ‘statement’ regarding such. If I discover any further information regarding the article mentioned/linked to above, I will post such here.

North east and east of Greenland M3+

Norwegian Sea

Again west of Norway (ridge/trench) M3+

Bulgaria/Serbia/Bosnia and Herzegovina –

M2 (+?), M2+ and M2++ respectively.

Moldova

Between Romania and Ukraine M1+?

Ukraine/Belarus border

France/Germany/Austria –

Maybe M2+’s for France, possibly an M3+

An M2(+?) for Germany

Austria may see an M1+

India –

At the moment of typing this post, I am only getting a feeling for the southern part/tip of India. If this feeling changes, I will note it here with the date and time.

Africa – (repeat)

north/east of Ethiopia/Djibouti/Eritrea may come up with an M3, M3+?

North of Morocco,

Near the Gulf of Aden – maybe an M3 (+?)

North of Libya maybe an M2+

North east of Tunisia M3?

North/east of Somalia M3?

South west of Liberia? M3+? (ridge)

Far south/west and south/east of Cape Town at sea (ridge) m3+?

South west of Nigeria (at sea) an M3 (+?)

Eastern Eritrea M3

West of Equatorial Guinea (ridge/trench) M3(+?)

Somalia and Kenya may feel an M3 and M2+ respectively.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania (again) may show up with M3 (+?) ‘s.

West of Namibia (at sea?) may see an M3+

Saudi Arabia/Yemen/Oman –

Maybe south of Yemen, north/west of Saudi Arabia (and maybe south/east, maybe north east, south and east of Oman M3+

Perhaps the Red Sea, near Eritrea an M3

Due south of Salalah, Oman and m3+

Slovakia/Czech Republic –

M1, M2+’s (maybe an M3+) - respectively 

Antarctica

Western region (coast) (situated far west/south/west of the lowest tip of South America) M3+?

Antarctic coast well due south of South Island of New Zealand M3? (+?).

This is another substantial list again, and I have probably left out a couple of regions.

Again, these M’s are only feelings and not predictions. So, I may be quite wrong with some of them and some may not occur at all, which is what I actually hope for.
